Resource Modelling
We have developed a number of resource models. Typically, these are required as a part of an exercise for the evaluation of the resource implications of different new product delivery schedules. Answering questions like "We've got all these new products coming through - Can we do them all?" and "What about if we outsource some of the work - How does it look then?"
Development schedules are sub-divided into a number of phases
New product development schedules are sub-divided into a number of phases of varying duration. Typically, there are discrete probabilities associated with a project successfully making the transition between any two phases. Each schedule can have differing levels of resource; both personnel and external spend, associated with each phase.
Evaluation of resource implications of the whole portfolio
The resource demand of the proposed new product development is combined with that of the current (resources already committed) portfolio to give a view of the total demand required to deliver the whole portfolio over the planning period.
